The TVS Akula 310 is presently the hottest property in the sub-350cc and is awaiting a gala launch soon. The motorcycle is set to be the company’s flagship model for the Indian model and will give a tough time to all the other motorcycles in thesegment.
Moreover, TVS Akula 310 price in India will be extremely competitive and the company is looking to stun one and all with the pricing of the motorcycle. That said, there are some more interesting facts about this flagship TVS motorcycle which many won’t be knowing about. So, here are top 5 interesting facts about the TVS Akula we don’t know about.
The TVS Akula 310 was unveiled as a concept at 2016 Auto Expo and was named as the TVS Akula. However, the motorcycle will be launched as the TVS Apache RTR 310 and will take the legacy of branding higher in India.
Not many would be knowing this, but the new Apache RTR 310 is jointly developed by BMW and TVS. Though the first motorcycle to be introduced by this joint venture is the BMW G310R, the motorcycle is not here in India yet. The new Apache 310 is based on the same mechanism as the G310R but is a fully-faired sports motorcycle, unlike the naked international sibling.
Different from its concept
The TVS Akula 310 seemed a very interesting motorcycle when it was first showcased at the Auto Expo. The production-ready Apache RTR is, however, a little different than the concept and missed out on many aesthetic features, only to keep the cost of production down. The concept model had a lot of machined aluminum bit every here and there which looked attractive. However, the production-ready version will be missing out on these features as the company wants to keep the price competitive.
To be international
The new TVS Apache RTR 310 will be a global motorcycle. This means the company will be exporting the motorcycle to international destinations too. Presently, the Indian two-wheeler maker exports some models to countries like UAE, Latin America, Spain, Bangladesh, etc.
The production-ready TVS Apache RTR 310 will be developed with Aluminum trellis suspension similar to the one that we see on the Yamaha R15. This frame offers a low centre of gravity which enhances the riding and cornering even at top speeds.
Is there anything else?
The all-new TVS Apache RTR 310 has been spotted testing a number of times. Though distinctly different than the concept model, the production-ready Apache looks utmost attractive and is destined to ride on the race track. The clip-on handlebars and the big front fairing takes the motorcycle into the highly competitive segment which has models like the KTM RC390, Yamaha R3 and the popular Kawasaki Ninja 300.
